Grooming March 12, 2016
Spring Logging is underway: As most of you know, we ski on trails in a commercial forest. Without forestry we have no skiing. So, hug a forester or logger (when they are not logging or foresting). Some trails will be affected. A map is posted at the trail head and ribbon will close off affected trails. PLEASE DO NOT CROSS RIBBONS! The loggers have a job to do and continued interruptions make their job far more difficult. Thanks.

Forestville: I understand yesterday’s skiing was excellent. Early today may be very good as well. As long as there is snow it will be good skiing due to the fully consolidated snow pack. However, grooming is likely a thing of the past this year. Above freezing temperatures overnight and the forecast of same through the long range forecast has our grooming fleet collecting dust. Dust collection is likely to continue until November. This means so too will the grooming report writer’s pen collect dust. We may issue sporadic reports as conditions warrant; for example, when the “Last Ski of the Season” contest gets in full swing. Today’s 60f and sun will likely have a lot of us testing our cycling legs.

Please consider posting comments to our Face Book page. Skiers want to see your first hand comments, not my hackneyed drivel.   We are attempting to get a face book link on our web page but when is the last time you said, “boy, that was easy”. Anyway, Face Book link below:
