Grooming January 18, 2018

January, 18 2018;  Grooming Report

Forestville Real Grooming Report:  Yesterday’s Bombi classic tracks are still in great shape so groomers are cleaning up the skate lanes on all trails inside the 17k mark.  Yesterday the groomers were able to build a path through the slush on the ponds so there are classic tracks and skate lane to the Tourist Park.  The picture above is from the log yard near the Tourist Park.

Way Too Long Grooming Report:    Ten days out.  I’m sure I am not the only one counting the days to the Noquemanon Ski Marathon.  With the tourist park section in very good shape one can ski to co rd 510 and back and see what life will be like after 44k.  After all, what is another six or seven k?  I guess I should add, they put the extra k at the end.

Yesterday’s To-Do list ended up crowding out skiing so I don’t have any first hand knowledge on how great it was.  However, one day after Bombi grooming, provided below freezing temperatures and the skate lane is cleaned up, is almost as good.  In fact, with calm air and the start at TP, it will be even better.  This is just like how Lasagna is better the second day; isn’t it?  Or, is this deluded rationalization?  I am reminded of the guy with the epitaph “I wish I had spent more time at the office”.

Saux Head: We received 8 to 10 inches of powder Monday and Tuesday. It was the  biggest snowfall yet this season. Richard did a triple pass in rolling the trail system Tuesday and Tim groomed and set track yesterday.

Fit Strip: I received a series of texts from Tom Tuesday night.  I will leave you to interpret.

First text: Hitch trip is groomed and all is looking good for skiing over there.

Second text: it’s trip not hitch strip. Fit strap. Well, you know what I mean.

Big Bay Pathway: Meditation and Hidden Grin are freshly packed and groomed. The trail is in excellent condition.  Bear Mountain not groomed at this time.

PS: Sponsored By pictures will begin soon.  So, if you have not renewed your Trail Builder membership, now is the time. You don’t want to lose your K marker.   Please don’t make me track you down. “
