Grooming February 13, 2016

Normal People’s Grooming Report:

Please Join us in Big Bay for the annual Honey Bear Classic ski event on February 18. See details below in the WTL section.

Also, TODAY at Al Quaal are the Michigan High School Cross Country Ski Championships. Come out and cheer them on. Middle school 3km race starts at 1pm.   HS Classic races start at 2pm.

More information and a complete list of start times can be found on  It’d be great for the skiing community to come out and support our skiing future!

Forestville:  Carlson is rolling all the way to co rd 510 via Bagwagi. Ken and Andy are grooming and track setting all other trails inside 17k. Bundle up and enjoy.

Saux Head: All trails were groomed and track set yesterday.

Big Bay Pathway: Big Bay Pathway trails are for classic skiing only. Groomers get out several times per week.  Given the remoteness of the trail, always ski with a partner. Cell phone service is not available in all parts of the trail.

Fit Strip: The Fit Strip (located at the Park Cemetery) in the city of Marquette is groomed regularly. New heavy snow will make this loop excellent for lunch hour outings.

Single Track Snow Bike Trails: The South Trails are groomed for snowbike riding. Snowbike grooming at the South Trails is at the cutting edge of the sport. NTN is continually evolving grooming technology. If you have never seen these trails in the winter you need to get out there. You have to ride a snowbike on a groomed trail to appreciate what is being invented right in our back yard. You need to get out there. For up to the minute grooming information see Single track facebook post .

The Way Too Long Version:  We haven’t had to pull out the misery factor chart all year. Of course the controversy surrounding it use continues. As a follow up to the cacophony of criticism we polled the populous. It seems a large plurality feel even reporting the factor contributes to the wimpefecation of society. So, although some wimps continue to look for excuses to lay on the couch with aerosol cheese, I will not contribute. Please bundle up and use green wax.
