Grooming Dec 10, 2017

December 10, 2017; This is a grooming report!

Real Grooming Report: Groomers roll packed to 17k on the Noque and Animoosh plus the inner loops of Papasay, Boozhoo, Zhing and the new lighted loop through the camp ground. I did ski to the pine plantation yesterday and it was good. The snow is thin but coverage is good with only the occasional spot of grass or dirt showing.

Way Too Long Grooming Report: The Grooming Report Writers Guild met last week and it was to a cacophony of groans that it was announced no suitable replacement had been found for the NTN chapter. So, with apologies to the Guild and both readers, until further notice you will have to pick through a good deal of chaff to find the grain.

That being said, I must apologize for failing to get a report out yesterday. Early season is always a trick. Communication was spotty and I had to run to the trail head to evaluate skiability. Of course, once there, I was duty bound to ski. I was surprised how few folks were out and fear the lack of reporting was an issue. On the “Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor and To-Win-a-Bet” scale, I would call it Good to Very Good. There is no classic track but a number of folks did ski in a track off to the side and the skate folks did respect its existence. Pole plants are quite firm and there are almost zero rocks.

With seasonable temperatures and snow in every day through the six day forecast, we are looking like skiing is here to stay. Enjoy.

PS: If you have not renewed your Trail Builder membership, now is the time. Please don’t make me track you down. “
