2016 grooming Dec 21

December 21, 2016; grooming report

Real Grooming Report Forestville: Groomers will ginzu the skate lanes on all trails up to 17k. The classic tracks are still in good shape and are best left as is.

Real Grooming Report Saux Head: Saux Head trails were were groomed and tracked Tuesday with a nice base. Grooming at Saux Head is on an as needed basis but at least once per week.

Fit Strip Trails: The Fit Strip in Marquette is now open for skiers. Trails are groomed for skate and classic technique. Grooming is performed as needed but at least once per week. Skiers should be advised that some people do also walk on the groomed trails so expect some foot prints.

Way Too Long Grooming Report: High temperatures in the 20s and lows in the 20s with good snow cover and good snow quality should remind us of how good things can be. Remember, this too shall pass. When one does not have the flu you don’t tend to think of how nice it is to not have the flu. So recently over that dread, I swear, I will never forget. So too, we should take note and advantage of our good fortune. I hope to see you out there.

Trail Host Volunteers Needed: I expect you have enjoyed the company and service of our trail head hosts over the years. You too can be a host volunteer. It is fun and warm work. You get to play with fire, meet interesting people and perform a valuable service to the community. The ideal volunteer provides services for a 3 hour shift once a week M-F. Our trail head coordinator is JJ Farrington. Please stop and say hi. If you would like to help out, call JJ Farrington for details. 248-242-2723.
