2016 Grooming Dec 15

December 15, 2016; grooming report
Real Grooming Report: Andy is going out at 9:00 this morning to clean up the skate lanes. Snow is still thin but should be very good again today.

Way Too Long Grooming Report: The vagaries of lake effect snow are never more evident than days like this. Clicking on the NOAA map and seeing blizzard conditions to our east and west really hurts. If we could just bend the earth 30% we would not be in the precipitation shadow of the Huron Mountains and Keweenaw Peninsula. Extra credit will be awarded to the first person that can solve this dilemma. However, I am reminded of what Juno told the peacock; you can’t be first in everything.

Trail Host Volunteers Needed: I expect you have enjoyed the company and service of our trail head hosts over the years. You too can be a host volunteer. It is fun and warm work. You get to play with fire, meet interesting people and perform a valuable service to the community. The ideal volunteer provides services for a 3 hour shift once a week M-F. Our trail head coordinator is JJ Farrington. Please stop and say hi. If you would like to help out, call JJ Farrington for details. 248-242-2723.
