Grooming Report December 1, 2012

Trail Update

Noquemanon: Thursday, masonry magic was at work on the woodstove pedestal. The BR 160 tiller repairs are complete. Several trails were rolled Thursday and Friday. Trail is good for early skiing, about 15k skiable at this point. New trail signs were installed this week. Thank you to Dr. Don for his work designing & installing the signs. I skied to the bridge at 17k this morning. There was good cover but a few rocks showing. There were some car and 4wheeler tracks but did not ruin the skiing but did some damage. Track is rather un-even but the surface is a good texture; not too soft or too hard. We are in a freeze/thaw cycle and once below 32f it will be very hard and very fast. Think snow!

Saux Head: Trail has been rolled with good coverage throughout system. Great early Skiing.

Valley Spur: Tracks set and grooming out that way for serveral days now. Looking good.

Good job to all the groomers out there getting our trails packed for the upcoming weekend thaw. We are expecting a warm up this weekend, we will hold off on grooming at that point until we have colder temps and more snow. NTN Forestville Trailhead set to open on Dec 1. Membership passes will be available for pick up there and at the NTN office during the week. Some passes will be mailed out in alphabetical order.

The NTN is happy to hear about trail conditions from you. Send pictures and email to We will share via Skinny Ski and Facebook. Periodic trail reports will also show up on facebook by our groomers.
