Grooming Report 12/24/2012

Forestville: What a holyday treat. Mid season skiing conditions. Another 2” of fluffy snow fell at Forestville yesterday on top of a wide smooth groomed surface. Skiing was hard to beat. Groomers were out in force again last night and all classic tracks were reset and skating lanes were hit groomed. Grooming is being performed with the Ginzu as the base is still too thin to use the Bombi equipment. There is still air in the snow and small race baskets occasionally punch through. Typically this is especially true on the outside pole plant for classic skiers. In an effort to combat this effect we have taken care to pack the outside of the trail prior to track setting and have shifted the track further from the edge.
