Adult Ski Happy Hour

Adult Ski Happy Hour Where: Forestville Trailhead When: 4 p.m. Friday March 7 It’s been an excellent winter, and what better way to celebrate the upcoming spring ski season than with a toast to sunny skies, 25 degrees, and fresh corduroy. Join us at the Forestville Trailhead on Friday, March 7th for a casual ski. Stick around afterwards and plan on bringing an appetizer to pass and an adult beverage of choice. Grab a friend and enjoy the excellent grooming and comfortable Forestville Facility. Not a member? Join us anyway! Day passes will be $5 for this event.

2014 Big Bay Relay

Participate in Marquette’s spring tradition! The Big Bay Relay sponsored by Johnsons Superior Shoes and Jimmy Johns is set to take off on Saturday, May 17th 2014. In its 38th year the relay has been a tradition and a challenge. This year’s relay race (five person teams) will start at 8 a.m. and run from Marquette to Big Bay. In the past the race has brought in 50+ teams comprised of elite runners to a team of friends that just like to get out and have an adventure together. “Funny Honey” Bear Ski Fundraiser set for Saturday, February 15, 2014

Noquemanon Trail Network and Friends of the Big Bay Pathway will host the annual Honey Bear, “Funny Honey” Classic Ski Fundraiser and Snow Bike “Shnow-Off” in Big Bay on Saturday, February 15th from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Skiers of any age will estimate their personal race time for one of several trail options through Big Bay’s featured ‘groomed wilderness’ beginning at the Pathway Trailhead at 11:00 am. Snow Bikers can ride the trail starting at 2:00. Participants will CHECK-IN at the Thunder Bay Inn lobby between 10:00 and 12:00 pm and must be on-course no later than noon. An

Cold Rolled: Marquette Michigan’s Snow Bike Route

Cold Rolled: Marquette Michigan’s Snow Bike Route, is a quirky action documentary from Clear & Cold Cinema, Salsa Cycles and that explores the history and progression of winter cycling culture in this small Lake Superior harbor town. Marquette, Michigan’s Noquemanon Trails Network has nearly perfected equipment and techniques used to launch its Snow Bike Route, a 15-mile winter singletrack developed for fat tire bikes. The fast narrow trail features flowy terrain, steep descents and large bermed turns. It’s believed to be the first trail of its kind–but more importantly, it’s pretty fun. Snow Biking in Marquette!

In addition to the featured snow bike route in South Marquette we have several other places that provide usually excellent bike conditions. Our North Marquette Trails can be easily accessed from several points in town and offer a mixture of singletrack, cross country ski trail and a little road. The singletrack trails here are not snowmobile groomed, so require a little higher degree of skill, but they also give you a more intimate in the woods experience– this is the section of trail that was shown at the beginning of the first ‘Cold Rolled’ video– the trail right along the

Trailer for the short film “Cold Rolled” to be premiered in Marquette, Michigan Friday, Dec. 6 then released in five chapters, Saturdays from December 7, 2013-January 11, 2014. The Noquemanon Trails Network of Marquette, Michigan has nearly perfected the creation and upkeep of a dedicated snow singletrack system for fatbikes believed to be the first of its kind. Simply called the “Snow Bike Route”, the 15-mile trail features berms, rollers and fast descents. It’s pretty fun; so we’re making a film about it.
