NOQUEMANON TRAIL NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING

The Noquemanon Trail Network will host their Annual Meeting at Lakeview Arena Citizen’s Forum Room on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 6:30pm. The (NTN) Noquemanon Trail Network is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of non-motorized trails. The primary users of the trails include: cross country skiers, mountain bikers, runners, hikers, equestrians and paddlers.  The member supported network receives no governmental support and relies on memberships and charitable donations to do it work. Trail Fest Seeks Volunteers

Marquette Trailsfest June 6,7 & 8, 2014 The Trail Fest race committee is actively seeking anyone who is interested in helping at any one of the races, parties, aid stations or information booths to help us throw this amazing, community inspired event. The 2014 Trails Festival is a combination of the XC Mountain Bike race, the downhill, the Dual Slalom race, the Enduro, several youth races, trail runs and trail tours. We have volunteer positions that involve riding the trails, going on hikes and tour rides with participants, timing for the races, help cleaning up and at the registration tables.

Big Bay Relay, this Saturday, May 17th.

  Attention Big Bay Relay Teams  You may pick up your teams t-shirts, Friday evening, May 16th from 6:30-7:30 pm at Johnson’s Superior Shoes on N. Third Street in Marquette or the morning of the event at the Kaufman Sports Complex.  Saturday morning, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time to check in with the starter, pick up your t-shirts, have your whole team sign the waiver and receive any last minute instructions. The starting line is on Hawley Street, in Marquette by the Kaufman Sports Complex entrance. New this year we are sending teams out in 1 minute

Kiwanis Club of Marquette, Chicken BBQ on Sunday, June 8. Looking for volunteers to help as NTN is a grant recipient.  Thank you to Kiwanis of Marquette and Dr. Don:) The time would be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with shifts from 11:00-12:30, 12:30 -2:00, and 1:30-3:00 PM at Lakeview Arena.  People can work the whole time or take a shift or if they need to overlap into another shift time, that is okay too (for example 12-1).   There will be work indoors and outdoors.  It does require standing the entire shift –helping in our food lines, walking around

Invasive Feces Cleanup Moved to May 3rd, 9:00 am.

We have evaluated the trails and are sad to say that it is just too wet to scoop and dispose of invasive feces properly tomorrow. We will cancel tomorrows plans and reschedule for next Saturday, May 3rd at 9 am. Will will be following the original plans. See ya at Dirtball at the Dog booth. The DIRTBALL Trail ride has also been cancelled as snow is still on the trails. More info below. 510-550 Nordic Vortex Shuttle & Ski – Saturday, March 22, 2014

510-550 Nordic Vortex  Shuttle & Ski  What:  First annual “Nordic Vortex” (ski, eat, socialize) Where: The Noquemanon Trail from 510 to Tourist Park When: Depart 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22 from the NTN Tourist Park trailhead on CR 550. Why: It is almost spring! Do we need a better reason to go skiing? A once a year opportunity to ski the Noque from 24K to 3K without arranging a ride! ________________________________________________________ Details: At 10 a.m. a bus will pick-up skiers and gear at the Tourist Park trailhead. We’ll shuttle skiers to our County Road 510 trailhead then ski from 510 down

Grooming Equipment Decoder Ring

All of the below pieces of equipment pale in comparison to the indispensable “Volunteer”.  These poor souls have some sort of flaw that makes them go out at all hours and drive the above in an attempt to produce corduroy for our enjoyment.  An experienced groomer will know which piece of equipment is best for the job.  In addition, they will know the little tricks such as, how deep to set the teeth on the Ginzu or how fast to go if setting classic tracks or if packing is needed before grooming.  Grooming the trails from Forestville to Co Rd
