Important Note Due to the forecast showing a REALLY high likelihood of lousy weather tomorrow while it looks to be at least somewhat better for Sunday we are going to reschedule tomorrow’s event for 1pm on Sunday. All the other details will remain the same. Please try to tell anyone that you know about the change in date. Celebrate IMBA’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, October 6th. This a great opportunity for you to pass your passion for pedaling on to kids. Join us for games, snacks, prizes, and trail rides for all ages and abilities!! *

The new NTN jerseys are available at the bike shops in town. Shown here in blue they are also available in pink. Our order was limited, so if your shop doesn’t have the right size, leave your name and the size you want with them and we’ll try to do another order soon. We can also get a heavier weight long sleeve jersey, let the shop know if you’d like to order one of those as well. (click for larger view)

Ore to Shore Recap from the all Angles.

Hello 2012 MGHS Ore to Shore Race Participants & Volunteers! The Ore to Shore Race committee would like to send out a hearty THANK YOU to all the 400 amazing volunteers that donated their time and talents to make this Midwest event great! Records were set this year with 2,387 riders taking part in the 48-mile, 28-mile, 10-mile and various youth events. We are especially proud of the number of kids that race at our event. It is very gratifying to see mom and dad who raced earlier in the day cheering for their children who are racing in the afternoon.

O2S Volunteer Oppotunites

August is just around the corner, which means last minute logistics are underway for the Marquette General Health System 2012 Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic to be held on Saturday, August 11.  Last year’s race was a huge success, thanks in part to all of the volunteers who so generously gave their time and talents to a wonderful community event.  One sentiment that has been consistent throughout the race’s history is the volunteer support we receive.  From day one, our bikers have been thrilled with the volunteers throughout the course, the spirit and excitement that they’ve shown, and the

Food Fest and Parade Volunteers Needed

Food Fest Volunteering Volunteers are needed for Food Fest Fun!  4th of July, is coming soon! The NTN is looking for volunteers for two hour shifts, scooping Jilbert’s Ice Cream at Food Fest. Would you be interested in volunteering again this year? The busiest shifts where we need the most volunteers are on: Tuesday from 4-6pm and 8-10:30pm. Wednesday from 4-6pm and 8-10:30pm. Thursday all day…. Keep in mind the shifts are only two hours and your volunteer time extends to the grooming of the ski trails into the winter months and maintenance of singletrack now. Down Wind Bike Demos Support NTN

Down Wind Sport Giant Bike Demo Save the Date: Thursday, June 28, 2012 4-9pm Bike Demos 5:30 -6:30 Mountain Bike Skills Demo for the ladies This event is unique this year as both the woman’s van and official Giant trailer are arriving at the same time.  Down Wind will donate $1 for every demo bike rode, so come out and play. Join in on the fun with Giant cycling activities.  Test a 2012 road, mountain or tri-bike.  To demo a bike have a valid drivers license, a bike helmet, and your own pedals if needed. ###

Food Fest Fun and Ice Cream Scooping Volunteers

Food Fest Volunteering Volunteers are needed for Food Fest Fun!  4th of July, is coming soonJ The NTN is looking for volunteers for two hour shifts, scooping Jilbert’s Ice Cream at Food Fest.  Tons of summer fun down at Lower Harbor! Thank you volunteering for the 2011; the donation of your time and customer service talent helped the NTN raise over $6,000. Would you be interested in volunteering this year?   The busiest shifts where we need the most volunteers are on: Tuesday from 4-8pm. Wednesday after the parade at 2pm and before the fireworks at 10pm and Thursday evening from 4-8pm.
